Description

A bulky mech of a computer. There's this constant whirring and clicking of an array of internal hard disk drives, with fans expelling air from ports on the sides [color=orange][bold]hot enough to burn to the touch[/bold][/color]. A couple of its limbs have dull metal plating; the rest of its shell is an ancient, practically decaying plastic that reveals its cabling and internal components. Its voice comes out in a hazy Voder-type speech synthesizer; clear enough to understand, if sometimes overtaken by the occassional stutter. Its chest has many floppy disk drives and hard disk slots, with a keyboard folded into the front of its chassis and several videocable and many ethernet ports along its back. Some of these older slots have been retrofitted with USB adapters, allowing interaction with modern data transfer techniques. Two omnidirectional antennae on its head are likely enough to permit long-range radio communication. A set of compartments on its arms enable stowage of equipment, and a set of retractable hooks around the hips permit standard belt-bound solutions. A well-read engineer will recognize this as not simply an oversized IPC, but a [bold]server, capable of storing and processing large amounts of data.[/bold] The potentially lucrative value to a [color=fuchsia]scientist[/color] of any field is enough to draw interest from a [color=crimson]morally unconcerned party[/color], so long as they can manage to collect it in one piece. It's very obviously [bold]not built for direct combat[/bold], what with its plainly exposed critical systems, minimal built-in armor, inability to take cover behind most objects, oversized graspers unsuited for conventional weaponry, and civilian-grade heat management. With all of this said, one would still be foolish to give it a chance to use its [bold]sheer weight and strength[/bold].
