How do I join the developer testing server?

The dev staging server is not listed on the server hub. You can add it manually by adding staging.wayfarer14.com to your server favorites page

What is this server's lore? Is Nanotrasen and Cybersun a thing?

Short answer... No, but they may be relevant to your character due to how this universe is setup. You can read more about it starting from the top in our server lore page.

Does the station have a timezone?

Zekkean Standard Time is the default timezone for event planning, and matches our server boxes' timezone. That is to say, it should be Central Standard Time... We do observe Daylight Savings here, so this may change depending on the time of the year.

Where can I read about the Go-RP's (SoP's) for playing as a CGP/Outlaw/Actor role?

Go-RP's is Wayfarer's version of typical Standard Operating Proceedures (SoP's) you might be familiar with on other servers. You can find these pages both on our wiki at CGP-GORP and Outlaws-GORP, or as a google doc handout when necessary.

Who or What is Wehfarer?

Wehfarer is out server's mascot. He's a red-orange synth who loves to help wherever he can. He's a humble bot who want's to make sure your time in Zekke is fun. He's also got an incredibly marketable plushie made after him in the style of the green weh lizards! The question now is... What came first? The plushie or the synth?

How long are shifts here?

Shifts typically are 72-hours (3 days). Please remember to sell shuttles and deposit money into ATM's before the shift ends!

How do I know how much time is left in the shift?

Refer to our website link here or, in-game access your PDA and look for "Time remaining in shift".

Whats the point of signing in on the Wayfarer website?

You can access information about your characters, see your playtime, and get other cool metrics! We're constantly improving this system, so this is likely to expand in the near future. We love the idea of expanding the universe outside of the game and being able to see it online. This sign-in uses official Space Station 14 oAuth. This means we cannot see your SS14 credentials when signing in, and is entirely safe!

How do I report bugs?

Please report all bugs on our github. Ahelps in game aren't for reporting bugs and are only for when you need an admin for assistance on something. Asking for an admins help in-game to workaround bugs is acceptable, but please also report the bug when you got a moment.

What does it mean to be on the Wayfarer "Team"?

As a team, we're the first line of "stakeholders" when it comes to decisions on the gameplay health, community decisions, etc. Also team members get 'first dibs' on working on projects, including secret projects that we dont announce so we can "wow" our community with huge new features. If you want to be considered for being on the team, Treat others with respect, be enjoyable to work with, and show an interest in contributing more to the project. All officially recognized team members are listed on http://wayfarer14.com/about. Either you will be approached if you're showing a ton of promise and commitment, or you can politely ask! Please don't ask to join the team without having some sort of track record of showing interest or actively contributing to the game already.

How do I add a Shift Summary Story?

Every character is allowed to add a shift summary story at any point throughout the round. Be sure to check your character screen in the top right corner buttons, where there will be a new "Write Your Story" button. There you can write about your shift there, and it'll show up at the summary screen, as well as on the round summaries on our website!

How do I Whitelist For a Specialty Role like SR, CGP or Outlaw?

I am international. Can I do anything about the lag?

Actually yes. Players connecting from Asia, Oceania, South America, or other regions far from the server may experience lag that cannot be fully eliminated, the speed of light sets a hard floor on round-trip time (RTT). However, the right client settings can significantly reduce stuttering and make the experience much smoother. Please see this wiki page for more details.
